International House Oulu’s new Welcome Office offers free-of-charge guidance for international people who are planning on moving to Oulu or have arrived in the city recently. The goal of the service is to ease everyday life in a new environment and to support settling down.
“The Welcome Office is a magnificent addition to our guidance service offerings. I hope that people find the service useful and it helps them to feel more welcome in Oulu”, International House Oulu’s Coordinator Rikupekka Leinonen says.
“We want to spread the word about the Welcome Office to those who work on international recruitment, and to new citizens through them. Our service offers valuable support for both international workers and applicants in work communities and organizations, as well as for students.”
The Welcome Office operates at BusinessAsema (Uusikatu 52, Oulu). You can book a personal appointment on Tuesdays between 9.00–11.30 and on Fridays between 12.00–15.00. The customer’s situation will be mapped out during the personal meeting, and they will be directed to suitable services.
If the person is planning on moving to Oulu, guidance can also be received online – via e-mail or Teams. You can book an appointment in the English-language appointment service.
Services are tailored to meet the needs of each customer, whether you plan to study, work, or live in Oulu. The service is free-of-charge and open for everyone moving to Oulu from abroad or from elsewhere in Oulu.
